Undelivered Letters to Hudson’s Bay Co. Men on the Northwest Coast of America 1830-1857

Judy Vallenzuela (aka Judith Hudson Beattie) will read heartfelt messages to Hudson’s Bay Company men, 1830-1850’s. Their wives and sweethearts in French Canada. England, Ireland, Scotland, and Orkney were separated by months long and dangerous trips across the continent or sea voyages around-the-Horn. They pour out their love and fears in words that never arrived but touch our hearts today.

Living Well at 55 Plus workshops are held on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at Crescent Fort Rouge United Church ​​525 Wardlaw Ave. in Winnipeg’s Osborne Village.
